Anarhicha’s lupus is found in the eastern Atlantic Ocean from France to Arctic areas, off Greenland and the northeast coast of North America, as well as in Danish waters up to the western Baltic Sea. It goes down to about 400 meters depth. The catfish likes a hard bottom, preferably with mussels.

The catfish eats mussels, crabs and snails. Most of these animals are surrounded by a powerful shell or a skin skeleton. The cat’s mouth is filled with many powerful teeth, so it is able to crush very thick shells. It swims with the help of its powerful fins that sit almost up at its head, and it breathes with the help of its gills next to it.
Catfish can grow up to 125 centimeters and weigh 20 kilograms.
